Background

Background Commetrex is a small company, and today, one of the Company’s founders is responsible for marketing, including marketing communications, but Commetrex can only reach its potential with much more marketing bandwidth. We are looking for a special person who has a broad skill set in all marketing communications disciplines, but most especially in Web design, SEO, social media, and trade-show management.

Qualifications

• Web design and maintenance (WordPress knowledge a plus, but not required if you can bootstrap)
• SEO
• Trade show management, including booth front line
• Communications skills: oral and written
• Leveraging the social Web
• A defender of the English language
• Great copy

Position Summary

So much of successful marketing is communications, whether one-on-one as a sales person or when pitching someone at a tradeshow, writing a tech brief, or building an effective Website, for success in this position, effective communications must be a strength. Our engineers must be proficient with programming languages; in marketing communications the language is English. You should be passionate about getting our message to our markets, and doing so with language that says Commetrex is a quality company. (Sticklers are welcome.)

Our Website is central to our marketing communications, and you will be completely responsible for its design and maintenance—at least for the near term. If not already there, you will need to quickly gain some familiarity with WordPress, as both of our Websites are built on it.

We exhibit at tradeshows, currently four per year, so light travel is required. You will not only be in charge, but you will be a key member of the booth team, so an outgoing personality is essential. You don’t need to be a techie, but you must be able to understand the key selling proposition of our products and communicate it to our prospects and markets.

The highest-qualified applicants will have a high-energy, innovative approach to maximizing sales through effective marketing communications…someone who can not only take assignments and run, but someone who understands our markets and the values we create for them and can therefore create innovative marketing communications programs.

This is an Atlanta-based position which does not include relocation.
