Market Risk Analyst – Power & Electricity Trading

Role Overview:
We are looking for a Senior Business Analyst to join one of our clients specialized in Energy Trading, to support the implementation of AI-driven technologies within IT while also contributing to the structuring and organization of the IT function.
This role sits at the intersection of business, technology, and consulting, requiring strong industry knowledge, advanced AI understanding, and the ability to drive transformation across stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as a Business Consultant between Energy Trading business teams (Trading, Risk, Middle Office, Operations) and IT
- Analyze and formalize business requirements related to AI use cases (forecasting, optimization, risk analytics, automation, decision support)
- Drive the implementation of AI and data-driven solutions within IT, in collaboration with Data Scientists, Engineers, and Architects
- Contribute to the definition and organization of IT processes, governance, operating models, and delivery frameworks
- Identify opportunities where AI can enhance performance, efficiency, and decision-making across Energy Trading activities
- Support change management, ensuring adoption of new tools and processes by business users
- Structure documentation, roadmaps, and KPIs to monitor IT and AI initiatives
- Facilitate workshops, steering committees, and executive-level presentations in English
Required Skills & Experience:
- Strong experience as a Business Analyst or Business Consultant in Energy Trading (Power, Gas, Commodities, or related markets)
- Solid understanding of Energy Trading front-to-back processes (Trading, Risk, PnL, Scheduling, Operations)
- Advanced knowledge of AI concepts and technologies (machine learning, predictive analytics, automation, data platforms)
- Proven experience working on IT transformation or digital transformation programs
- Ability to structure and improve IT organization, governance, and operating models
- Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills
- Fluent in English (written and spoken); ability to interact with senior business and IT stakeholders
Nice to Have:
- Experience with data platforms, cloud environments, or AI frameworks
- Exposure to Agile / Product-driven delivery models
- Background in consulting environments or large-scale transformation programs
