The analyst reports to the gas and LNG market analysis team lead, covering horizons from day-ahead to 3–5 years. Market Analysis generates rigorous, actionable market intelligence to support ENGIE's commercial and strategic decision-making and maintains proprietary fundamental models, quantitative tools, and market views across gas, LNG, power, emissions, oil and weather. The gas and LNG desk advises traders on European gas market and global LNG dynamics, including supply-demand balances, infrastructure constraints, price drivers and cross-commodity relationships.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain short- to medium-term supply-demand models for European gas and global LNG markets, integrating infrastructure data, weather, storage, demand response and cross-commodity dynamics
- Develop and own trading strategy ideas in collaboration with traders, from analytical framing through to execution monitoring
- Monitor global LNG supply chain developments — liquefaction, shipping, regasification, demand centers — and translate them into actionable market positioning
- Produce structured analytical content (notes, dashboards, presentations) for traders, management and internal clients
- Contribute to and co-develop the team's fundamental modelling platform with data scientists and developers
- Actively participate in the team's AI integration roadmap: identify high-value use cases, prototype analytical tools, and help scale best practices across the team
