Manufacturing Engineer

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develops, evaluates, and improves manufacturing methods and process planning.
• Coordinates the manufacturing launch of new/revised products including establishing goals, training team members and evaluating results.
• Designs, develops and tests and/or sources and cost-justifies various tools, machinery, and equipment for recommended manufacturing methods.
• Performs products/process analysis for cost reduction, quality improvement, and improved efficiency.
• Represents manufacturing on cross‑functional teams.
• Monitors and improves the efficiency, output and safety of manufacturing processes through observations and measurements as well as by collecting and interpreting data from other technical & operations personnel.
• Maintains housekeeping at and around department.
• Applies 6S principles to all areas of the plant.
• Wears all personal protective equipment necessary to task and area.
• Performs any other duties deemed necessary by management.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Must be a U.S. Citizen, Green Card Holder.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• College degree in related field preferred.
• 2+ years in engineering or related field with proven skills.
• Knowledge of Kaizen and Lean Manufacturing techniques.
• Excellent cognitive and analytical skills, and reading and writing skills.
• Strong computer background, organizational, planning, and typing skills.
• Effective communication skills and human relations skills.
• Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities.
• Ability to work well in a team environment.
