The Managing Director is responsible for the overall business and develops the strategy to maximize revenue and profit for the designated country in the international market. The Managing Director will oversee all business and operational functions, including oversight of market trends, with a focus on retailer and consumer demand for all Coinstar, LLC products.

Key Responsibilities

Business Development

  • Develop ongoing long-term revenue and expense plans that will drive profitable growth to support the international product expansion.
  • Responsible for the oversight of go-to-market strategies involving marketing, sales and product development plans that cultivate a well-qualified sales pipeline from customers across the country, including retail customer partner marketing program offers.
  • Responsible for the development and oversight of the sales model such as direct sales and channel options and the sales lead management process.
  • Responsible for performing activities of the company in-market spokesperson with media interviews, events and tradeshows, collaborating with the corresponding third party PR and marketing firm(s).
  • Oversight of the marketing and public relations campaigns to increase awareness, usage, and frequency in accordance with company branding philosophies, collaborating with the corresponding third party PR and marketing firm(s), including social media industry engagement to consumer plan. Work closely with the Corporate Marketing team to ensure alignment in these specialized areas.
  • Develop a clear understanding of retail customer environment and build solutions in order to enhance and optimize the customer’s business activities and results.
  • Develop and maintain strong external collaboration by obtain feedback on products, and ensure that products optimally meet market needs.
  • Oversee development of sales related materials, prepare presentations and regularly present at client meetings, industry exhibits, trade shows and conferences.
  • Develop and execute against business development plan including partner prospecting, contract negotiation, account management and development.
  • Actively research the target market segment in order to assess all opportunities for growth
  • Establish contacts locally with senior decision makers in targeted companies, industries, government and financial experts.
  • Develop market viability model for the coin recycling business in the target market and identify the appropriate market penetration objectives and business development plans.
  • Identify and develop additional business opportunities in the market.

Business Operations

  • Manage and oversee third party and/or corporate relationships such as Marketing, PR, Accounting, and Human Resources, as identified.
  • Oversee execution of internal and/or external accounting, client reporting, cash operations including cash transportation and processing, and field kiosk maintenance.
  • Manage and oversee key partnerships and alliances critical to the market success, with partner industry partners, legal, government, banking, security and trade associations.
  • Develop processes, procedures and team structure to deliver optimal operations performance and client service.
  • Make significant contribution to policy formulation developing and proposing business strategies for operating the business.
  • Identify new business partners in the country, plans and executes joint activities with customers, suppliers and vendors.
  • Serve as escalation point for all business critical issues.
  • Identify service level parameters with Sales and Field Operations management to ensure the team is set-up for success.
  • Partner with Loss Prevention to minimize security risks, fraud, theft, kiosk compromise and damage.
  • Oversee the business office daily operations and identify growth needs such as subsidiary office, logistics depot and storage space. Negotiate contract(s) and manage to terms.

Financial Management and Compliance

  • Develop annual budget and business commitments with international team and Corporate.
  • Responsible for full P&L responsibility and deliver targeted goals within defined measurement period(s).
  • Ensure compliance with market tax, legal, and Human Resource requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with all corporate subsidiary reporting requirements.

Team Leadership

  • Recruit, hire, coach, develop and measure the sales and operating management teams. Establish annual commitments and performance expectations to achieve both market and corporate objectives.
  • Lead and develop the market leadership team in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Identify the optimal operating structure to ensure efficient operations and client service.
  • Provide any direct oversight and leadership for all international business locations.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelors required, Masters preferred.
  • 10+ years’ business development and product management experience.
  • 10+ years’ people leadership, development and management experience.
  • 10 years’ sales and contract negotiation experience and P&L responsibility.
  • 5+ years outsourced services management experience.
  • Experience working with the grocery and mass retail trade and Financial Institutions.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Fluent in both French and English languages.
  • Entrepreneurial self-starter able to work independently.
  • Must be passionate about quality of performance and customer satisfaction.

Location & Business Travel

  • This position requires business travel, including overnight travel.
  • This position is based out of Idron, France. Work from home arrangements are welcome within France.

Salary

The typical starting salary range for this position is between € 130,960 - € 170,000. Within the range, individual pay is determined by several factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Short-Term and Long-Term incentives are a part of the total compensation package and are based on Company and Individual performance.
