Position

We’re seeking a strategic and hands‑on Communications Manager to lead earned media, influencer, and brand storytelling across Southern Markets in EMEA (France, Spain, Italy, Greece…).

Acting as the hub between regional strategy and market execution, you’ll guide local executional teams and PR agencies to deliver consistent, culturally relevant communications for The Ordinary and other Deciem brands.

This is a fixed‑term contract until March 2027.

Key Requirements

  • 5+ years of equivalent work experience in Communications/PR (Beauty a plus, regional experience a plus)
  • 2+ years leading agencies, people, or matrix teams across multiple markets

What You’ll Be Doing

Strategy & Localization

  • Act as the key liaison from regional communications strategy and market execution across Southern Markets (France, Italy, Spain, Greece) and localize and adapt global/regional toolkits (narratives, messaging, press materials, influencer guidelines) for cultural resonance and platform nuances.
  • Lead and guide local teams and/or PR agencies across assigned markets: set briefing, KPIs and calendar, performance reviews, budget planning while building high standards and cross‑market consistency, providing playbooks, frameworks and ongoing coaching and feedback.
  • Oversee press office via partners: media strategy, pitch angles, evergreen storytelling, spokespersons briefing and interview readiness, set the influencer program framework (tiering, content formats, brand safety checks) and approve market plans.
  • Govern product seeding and sampling principles, and allocations via local teams and collaborate with partners on events and brand activations: define objectives, success criteria and post‑mortems.
  • Oversee affiliation strategy implementation across direct‑to‑consumer and retail channels and coordinate press and communications assets creation and adaptation specific to market cluster, maintaining asset and artwork quality, ensuring version control and translations.

Monitoring & Reporting

  • Monitor cultural trends, social conversation and competitor activity to inform timely opportunities and strengthen local positioning.
  • Own reporting for assigned markets and consolidate market‑level results and insights into regional dashboard, recommend optimizations and share best‑practices.
  • Establish issues/crisis protocols and escalation paths with local markets, Deciem leadership and Legal.

People Leadership & Partnerships

  • Reports to the Head of Communications EMEA and guide and coach the local communications teams and partners within your market scope.
  • Partner with Partnerships and Brand EMEA teams to align launch plans and priorities with business targets while protecting brand integrity and support our Impact team to embed our approach into communications where relevant.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Strong PR and influencer management background and event orchestration
  • Detail‑oriented, thrives in a fast‑paced environment, creative thinker
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong planning, prioritization and stakeholder management
  • Highly collaborative, cooperative and creative team player
  • English fluency (Spanish, Italian a plus) and connection to Deciem’s values of Kindness and Doing Good
