What we’re looking for
We’re seeking a strategic and hands‑on Communications Manager to lead earned media, influencer, and brand storytelling across Emerging Markets in EMEA (Middle East, India, Turkey, Africa…). Acting as the connector between regional strategy and market execution, you’ll guide local executional teams and PR agencies to deliver consistent, culturally relevant communications for DECIEM’s portfolio of brands. This is a fixed‑term contract until March 2027. 5+ years of equivalent work experience in Communications/PR (beauty background and, EMEA experience a plus).
What you’d be doing in this role
- Act as the key regional liaison for Emerging Markets (Middle East, Turkey, India, Africa…), localizing and adapting global toolkits (narratives, messaging, press materials, influencer guidelines) for local cultural resonance and platform nuances.
- Lead and scale local teams and PR agencies by setting clear briefings, KPIs, calendars, performance reviews, and budget planning, while driving cross‑market consistency through playbooks, frameworks, and ongoing coaching.
- Oversee partner‑led press offices and influencer frameworks , managing media strategy, storytelling pitches, spokesperson readiness, influencer tiering, brand safety checks, and market plan approvals.
- Govern experiential and product marketing operations , overseeing direct product seeding and sampling allocations via local teams while collaborating with partners on event objectives, success criteria, and post‑mortems.
- Drive omni‑channel communication and asset management , overseeing the affiliation strategy across direct‑to‑consumer and retail channels while coordinating the creation, adaptation, translation, and version control of market‑specific assets.
Monitoring & Reporting
- Track market dynamics and performance , monitoring cultural trends, social conversations, and competitor activity to optimize local positioning while consolidating market‑level data and insights into regional dashboards.
- Mitigate brand risk by establishing clear issues/crisis protocols and escalation paths in direct coordination with local markets, DECIEM leadership, and Legal.
- Report directly to the Head of Communications EMEA to guide, mentor, and coach local affiliate communications teams within your designated market scope.
- Collaborate with EMEA Partnerships and Brand teams to strategically align product launch plans and commercial priorities to business targets while strictly protecting brand integrity.
- Support the Impact team to seamlessly embed purpose‑led initiatives and brand impact approaches into broader communications strategies where relevant.
Skills and qualifications needed to get the job done
- PR, Influencer & Event Expertise : Proven background in public relations, influencer management, and orchestrating brand events, ideally within the beauty industry or across regional markets.
- Leadership & Team Management : Experience leading PR agencies, managing people, or guiding matrixed teams across multiple international markets.
- Communication & Collaboration : Highly collaborative and creative team player with excellent written and verbal communication skills in English (additional fluency in Arabic, Turkish, or Hindi is a plus).
- Execution & Stakeholder Management : Detail‑oriented professional with strong planning, prioritization, and stakeholder management skills who thrives in a fast‑paced environment.
