Maintenance Trades Specialist II – HVAC

Location

Atrium Health Pineville – Charlotte, NC

Schedule

Monday–Friday, 07:00–15:30 (1st shift)

Pay Range

"$28.55 – $42.85 per hour"

Major Responsibilities

• Conduct preventive maintenance tasks and repairs on basic facility systems and document tasks through the computerized maintenance system (CMMS)
• Assist in evaluating and troubleshooting basic building system failures and perform repairs as directed
• Operate, monitor, and maintain basic utility system infrastructure
• Assist in maintaining fire alarm and fire protection systems
• Support the installation of building hardware, electrical devices, and wall finishes under supervision
• Maintain preventive maintenance records and equipment repair files for compliance purposes
• Read blueprints, life‑safety drawings, and maintenance manuals to acquire the knowledge needed to complete assignments

Licensure, Registration, and/or Certification Required

• Advanced training beyond high school that includes the completion of technical training
• Valid driver’s license

Education Required

• High school diploma or GED equivalent

Experience Required

• 2–4 years of experience in comparable industrial or trades maintenance or operations

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required

• Ability to work within clearly defined standard operating procedures
• Intermediate computer skills in CMMS, Microsoft Office, and building automation systems
• Good written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
• Capacity to work independently with intermediate technical facility maintenance skills

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

• Work required shifts and participate in on‑call duty to provide 24/7 coverage
• Must be able to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, crawl, reach above shoulders, and twist frequently throughout the workday
• Must be able to lift up to 15 lbs. from floor to overhead, up to 50 lbs. from floor to chest level, and carry up to 50 lbs. at waist height a reasonable distance
• Must be able to push/pull with 50 lbs. of force
• Exposure to electrical and mechanical hazards and knowledge of safety precautions
• Position requires travel; may be exposed to road and weather hazards
• Operate all equipment necessary to perform the job

Preferred Job Requirements

• Recognized community college or technical school trade certificate or completion of a recognized community college program
• Trade/tech school certificate or industry‑recognized certification/license requiring continuing education or periodic renewal
• 2+ years of experience in comparable industrial or trades maintenance or operations
