Maintenance Specialist
Position Overview
Our PHC (personal and home care products) Maintenance BOE Specialist will control the development and implementation of the maintenance strategy across the PHC can facilities. This role is critical in driving equipment reliability, minimizing unplanned downtime, and embedding a culture of proactive maintenance within the PHC manufacturing operations. The Maintenance BOE Controller is a cross‑functional lead with strong technical knowledge, project management skills, and a deep understanding of BOE maintenance pillar concepts and methodology.
This position can be based out of any EMEA PHC plant. Candidates from the EU will be given salary information prior to the interview.
Essential Responsibilities
- In collaboration with the plants, develop and oversee the maintenance pillar master plan and roadmap
- Coach cross‑functional teams in PM methodology, tools, and standards
- Ensure the standardization of best practices across plants
- Drive the development and optimization of preventive and predictive maintenance programs
- Standardize maintenance routines (checklists, frequency, methods) based on equipment criticality
- Ensure the maintenance strategy is data‑driven and aligned with equipment failure modes and history
- Optimize availability related to outages, shutdowns, and maintenance days
- Collaborate with equipment specialist teams to align activities and ensure smooth handoffs between production and maintenance
- Support the development of proper training for operators and technicians
- Be the subject matter expert for maintenance planning and scheduling
- Develop planning schedules and assist plants to standardize maintenance planning
- Develop a central database of planned maintenance completion and create data metrics to share with leadership
- Lead or participate in root cause analysis (RCA) and implement permanent corrective actions for chronic equipment issues
- Facilitate FMEA, Reliability‑Centered Maintenance (RCM), and other reliability improvement initiatives
- Implement condition monitoring tools and practices (e.g., vibration analysis, thermography)
- Align with the central team in the development of AI maintenance tools
- Collaborate with the Spare Parts Coordinator on spare parts usage, inventory, and standard approaches
- Ensure all maintenance procedures, technical documentation, and equipment histories are up to date and accessible
- Manage CMMS utilization, ensuring accurate entry and analysis of work orders, schedules, and spare parts usage
- In conjunction with Technical Training, develop training programs to build maintenance team capability
- Foster a culture of ownership, standardization, and continuous improvement among maintenance and production teams
Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent education in Mechanical Engineering
- Minimum 5 years experience in Industrial Maintenance Systems
- Minimum 3 years experience in Continuous Improvement
- Demonstrated skills in:
- Machinery maintenance, mechanical systems, and preventive maintenance strategies, utilizing technical documentation effectively
- Leadership skills to coordinate maintenance teams and achieve goals
- Analytical ability to identify improvement opportunities and solve complex problems
- Solid technical knowledge in maintenance engineering and asset management
- Solid experience in machining and mechanical materials
- Working knowledge of:
- Machinery and equipment
- TPM, 5S tools, RCA, FMEA and other continuous improvement methodologies
- IT systems within a maintenance or technical environment
