Purpose of the Role

The role of the Tooling Specialist is to oversee the design, manufacturing, and testing of tooling developed for new programs and to validate them in line with the plant’s objectives.

The role of the Tooling Specialist is to oversee the design, manufacturing, and testing of tooling developed for new programs and to validate them in line with the plant’s objectives.

The position also involves coaching tooling maintenance teams to enhance their competencies and providing expert support in resolving complex tooling issues.

Main Responsibilities

• Ensure that new equipment complies with Group HSE standards and meets QCDP objectives.Participate in all stages of new tooling industrialization, from acquisition through final acceptance on site, while integrating lessons learned.
• Ensure future maintainability of tooling by verifying consistency between tooling drawings and actual tool components.
• Design, together with the tooling supplier, the maintenance plan and critical spare parts analysis.
• Train Toolmakers on the specific features of new tooling and new technologies.
• Analyze recurring failures and maintenance costs (using OEE/TRS, NTRS, Pareto analyses, anomaly tags, AI, line QRCI, Breakdown Logsheets, etc.) and implement corrective actions, including tooling modifications when necessary.
• Implement productivity and continuous improvement actions, as well as Engineering Change Requests (ECRs).
• Contribute to the improvement of tooling specifications by leveraging feedback and conducting technological monitoring of tooling standards.
• Based on Equipment Care and other analytical data, identify technical risk areas such as obsolescence, premature wear, or mechanical failure risks, and coordinate refurbishment projects by managing investment requests, quotations, stock build-up when required, and intervention planning.
• Ensure compliance with and implementation of Faurecia’s Code of Ethics, including respect for fundamental rights, development of social dialogue, skills development, and adherence to business conduct and ethics rules.
• Ensure compliance with and implementation of Faurecia’s Management Code, including activity planning and execution, employee performance and development management, and adherence to ethical principles.

Required Qualifications And Skills

• The ideal candidate should possess the following qualifications and competencies:

• Mechanical Engineering degree, or a Technical Degree (Bac+2 equivalent) in General Mechanics with relevant experience.
• Proven experience in tooling.
• Experience in project management.
• Expertise in machining processes, including cost and lead-time management.
• Strong communication, coaching, and interpersonal skills.
• Practical knowledge of Quality and HSE systems.
• Professional level of English required.
