Role Summary
As M&A Tech Engineer, you will drive Mistral’s growth strategy by identifying and evaluating acquisition opportunities that align with our technical and business goals. You will collaborate with Product, Engineering, Legal, and Finance teams to assess targets from a technical perspective and shape our future of AI.
Responsibilities
- Identify and Evaluate Opportunities: Conduct market research to find relevant target companies within our priority acquisition areas and evaluate the technical potential and fit with Mistral’s offering.
- Conduct Technical Due Diligence: Evaluate target technology by testing products, reviewing codebases and architectures, assess target technical teams and roadmaps, and work with engineering to assess technical synergies and integration path.
- Collaborate with Engineering: Partner with tech leads to define acquisition categories and criteria, pitch the target to Product and Engineering leads, and provide technical insights for investment decisions and integration planning.
- Leadership Collaboration: Work with senior leaders to align M&A strategy with business objectives and provide learnings and trends from the AI startup landscape.
Qualifications
- Degree in a relevant scientific field (Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, etc.).
- Deep understanding of machine learning concepts and LLMs.
- Experience implementing AI or ML products with APIs, back-end and front-end interfaces.
- Proficient reading Python code and familiarity with agents frameworks such as LangChain and vector databases.
- Curiosity about the AI ecosystem and startup innovation.
- Interest in M&A or venture capital and willingness to apply technical skills to sourcing, evaluating, and executing high-impact deals.
- Strategic mindset that identifies opportunities aligning with our vision.
