KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Reporting to the Chief Representative Officer of Haitong Bank in Paris, the trainee will support new business generation by gathering information on market growth, competitors, and potential market share. The trainee will also review company fundamentals and financial statements.

The main tasks/responsibilities for this position include:

For M&A Trainee:

• Assisting in the execution of mandates (both buy-side and sell-side), providing strong client exposure. The candidate will assist in preparing information memorandums, management presentations, financial analysis, financial modelling, valuations, and managing the data room.
• Deal sourcing: The candidate will participate in the preparation of market, strategic and competitive analysis, as well as industry screening for the identification of potential targets/buyers, financial valuations, etc.

For Corporate and Project Finance Trainee:

• Identify potential clients and prospects in the French, Benelux, and other European markets.
• Ensure effective communication with internal and external counterparties.
• Prepare credit applications, including company presentations, financial analysis, industry analysis, and peer comparison.
• Participate in transactions and advisory processes.
• Write detailed information memorandums.
• Assist in the execution of new corporate and project Financing deals.

PROFILE

• Master’s degree in finance, Accounting, Management, Economics, or Financial Engineering.
• Strong analytical skills and risk assessment capabilities.
• Fluency in English and French is required for the Corporate and Project Finance Trainee. Chinese is mandatory for the M&A Trainee.
• Previous experience(s) in deal-oriented working environments such as investment banking, strategy consulting, private equity or transaction services at prestigious firms.
• Effective writing and organizational skills are critical.
• Detail oriented and positive thinker.
• Capable of working autonomously, with a combination of analytical skills and a solution-oriented mindset.
• Ability to work under pressure.
• Strong command of Microsoft Office and standard business/financial databases.
• High level of professionalism, confidentiality, and integrity.
• Excellent interpersonal and business communication skills.
• Dedicated, innovative, resourceful, and able to work under pressure.
