Legal Officer

Overview:

Inuka is working with an impact investment group focused on African markets, that is seeking a Legal Officer based in Paris. The role will primarily support fund-of-funds investment activities while also contributing to the legal structuring and ongoing management of investment vehicles across multiple jurisdictions.

Responsibilities:

• Provide legal support across fund investments, including review of LPAs, PPMs, subscription agreements, and side letters.
• Conduct legal due diligence on target funds and identify key legal and regulatory risks.
• Support investment teams in negotiations with fund managers and coordinate with external counsel.
• Advise on the structuring and ongoing legal management of investment vehicles and SPVs, particularly in Mauritius, Luxembourg, and France.
• Review and negotiate key fund, investor, and commercial agreements.
• Monitor legal and regulatory developments and support ongoing governance and compliance.
• Coordinate multi-jurisdictional legal workstreams and maintain standard legal templates.

Qualifications:

• Approximately 5–8 years of post-qualification legal experience.
• Qualified lawyer with experience in private practice and/or an investment fund, institutional investor, AIFM, or financial services environment.
• Strong experience in fund investments, fund structuring, and legal due diligence.
• Knowledge of major fund jurisdictions such as France, Luxembourg, or the US.
• Familiarity with Mauritius fund structuring and the FSC regulatory framework is strongly preferred.
• Experience managing external counsel and multi-jurisdictional legal matters. xtajcwe
• Fluent English; proficient or fluent French strongly preferred.
