Legal Intern, Data Protection

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing and tracking GDPR compliance programs for agencies
• Assist with review of contracts and GDPR governance documents
• Support the development of compliance tools (how-to sheets, training materials, compliance guides, etc.)
• Assist in creating communication materials (newsletters, brief alerts)
• Draft legal memoranda and conduct legal research on data protection law
• Monitor legal and case-law developments, in particular from supervisory authorities, the European Commission and the CJEU

Requirements

• Master’s degree (e.g., Master 2) in Data Protection Law or IT Law
• Ideally: significant internship experience in a legal department, in-house or at a law firm
• Knowledge of the GDPR is a prerequisite for the role
• Practical experience in implementing the GDPR
• Interest in new technologies
• Rigour and autonomy; respect for confidentiality; analytical and summarizing skills; responsiveness; strong communication and teamwork skills
• Fluent English is essential
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
