Your missions as a Legal Counsel – Financial products at Spiko

You will report to the Head of Legal & Compliance. Your main missions will be:

• Partnership and distribution agreement: you will negotiate various types of partnership and distribution agreements with distribution partners; once signed, you will supervise these distribution agreements on an ongoing basis.
• UCITS and AIF regulatory documentation: you will be involved in the legal/regulatory design of the investment products we distribute (mainly UCITS and AIFs). You will maintain and update the regulatory documentation (i.e. prospectus, KID PRIIPS, marketing materials) and ensure their regulatory compliance.
• UCITS and AIF marketing documentation: you will draft marketing guidelines for our sales and marketing teams; you will also review and validate marketing materials related to the UCITS and AIFs that we (or our sub‑distributors) distribute.

Ideal profile / requirements

• Academic background: you graduated from a law university or a business school, ideally with a degree in banking and financial law.
• Law experience: you have at least 4 years of experience in the legal department of a fintech or a banking / financial institution, an asset management company or a financial regulation department of a law firm.
• Knowledge of financial regulation: you should have expert knowledge of the main regulatory frameworks involved in the distribution of financial products (MIFID/MIFIR, UCITS, AIFMD, PRIIP).
• Versatility: as one of the first members of our legal team, your role will involve managing legal / regulatory compliance across several jurisdictions (e.g., EU / EEA cross‑border distribution) and several regulatory frameworks.
• Mindset: you are highly ambitious and eager to be one of the first members of a team striving for excellence.
• Excellent communication skills: fluent in French (native level) with excellent written skills, and professionally proficient in English.

Nice to have

• Experience with other regulatory frameworks relevant to Spiko (MiCA, anti‑money laundering regulation, payment services) is a plus.
• Experience with DORA and GDPR is also nice to have.
• Experience in a fast‑growing fintech start‑up environment.

• Take‑home case study to prepare and present over video.
• Final interview in person with the founders and key team members. This is about ensuring your profile and aspirations align with our culture, mission, and goals.
• Reference check: we’ll contact two people you’ve worked with, ideally former managers.
