Legal Counsel, E-Commerce, France & Benelux

Responsibilities

The TikTok eCommerce Legal Team provides comprehensive legal support for diverse, cross‑functional, and multi‑jurisdictional initiatives across the UK and Europe, including TikTok Shop. As part of this dynamic and fast‑growing division, you will contribute to the expansion of one of the most exciting digital commerce platforms worldwide. This role will serve as a key point of contact for marketplace governance and user experience teams in the EU and for covering the region of France & Benelux (Belgium, Netherlands and Luxembourg).

Key Responsibilities

• Provide legal advice on EU product compliance, consumer protection law, advertising, creator marketing, applicable to online marketplace
• Provide legal support on EU intellectual property rights (IPR) matters, as well as broader marketplace governance issues
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams (e.g. policy, operations, product, and enforcement teams) to ensure consistent and effective compliance practices
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously, balancing strategic and tactical priorities in a high‑growth environment

Minimum Qualifications

• Solid experience in‑house and/or in a reputable law firm, working in the IP, media, technology and/or e‑Commerce fields
• In‑depth knowledge of EU laws applicable to eCommerce platforms, digital marketplaces, and the retail sector
• Strong familiarity with key EU regulatory frameworks, including the Digital Services Act (DSA), General Product Safety Regulation (GPSR), and EU market surveillance rules
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience handling regulatory inquiries or investigations is highly desirable
• Intellectual property rights (IPR) experience in a marketplace context is a plus
• Ideally, in‑house experience within an international, matrixed organization
