Legal Counsel – Commercial Contracting
Is Expected To Be Able To Address The Full Range Of Global Legal Issues Facing BCG And With a Particular Expertise In All Aspects Of Commercial Contracting. Among Other Things, You Will
- Be a fully integrated member of BCG’s Global Legal Team, with a primary focus on commercial matters, commercial risk identification, and internal process improvement, particularly for BCG’s operations in France;
- Serve as champion of BCG contracting and risk management standards;
- Draft, review, and negotiate a wide array of commercial agreements, including global master services agreements, subcontractor, nondisclosure agreements, technology transactional matters and variable pricing arrangements in both English and French;
- Be experienced in drafting legal documents;
- Provide clear, pragmatic and commercially aligned advice that balances business objectives with legal integrity;
- Identify legal and commercial risk early, articulate implications clearly and recommend practical mitigation strategies;
- Implement and help to develop BCG contracting and other policies and processes and provide assistance to seek approvals on deviations of contract or other policies;
- Provide general counseling of a full spectrum of business and legal issues, such as intellectual property, data protection, competition law and conflicts of interests;
- Managing and directing consulting teams to ensure compliance with privacy laws including General Data Protections Regulations (GDPR) and data security;
- Team successfully across BCG and integrate fully into BCG’s Global Legal Team to resolve or support resolution of complex legal issues;
- Act as bridge and point of contact between functions and business for resolving legal issues;
- Contribute to developing and maintaining Legal Team know-how and templates;
- Managing and directing consulting teams operating in complex, high-pressure environments to navigate legal issues;
- Use AI and technology responsibly to enhance legal delivery:
- Leverage AI tools to accelerate research, assess risks, contract review, drafting and synthesis.
- Structure inputs thoughtfully and critically assess outputs to ensure accuracy, defensibility and tone.
- Understand and manage risks associated with AI use, including confidentiality, bias and reliability.
- Identify opportunities to scale legal support through automation, knowledge tools and repeatable workflows.
- Managing and leading commercial contracts with clients established and/or doing business in France and the EU;
- Contribute to team capability and innovation:
- Support knowledge sharing, training and development within the Legal team.
- Help modernise how Legal delivers value through expertise, process improvement and technology adoption.
- Foster a culture of sound judgment, responsiveness and continuous improvement.
- Perform other duties as assigned or required.

What You'll Bring
- Qualified lawyer in France or proven practice within a civil law jurisdiction within Europe;
- 6+ years of commercial contracting experience, including international exposure; with at least 2 years at a reputable law firm preferred;
- prior relevant in-house experience preferred;French and English fluency are mandatory; additional continental European languages are a plus.
