We are seeking a highly skilled and business-oriented Legal Counsel to join our Global Legal Assets & Brands team within a leading international pharmaceutical company. In this strategic role, you will manage the full contract lifecycle and provide high-level legal support to global business teams across R&D, Medical Affairs, Regulatory Affairs, Patient Safety, Procurement, and Portfolio Strategy. You will play a critical role in safeguarding operations, ensuring compliance, and enabling business growth worldwide.
Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end contract management: draft, review, negotiate and execute a broad range of agreements (consulting, service and master services agreements, development, manufacturing and supply agreements – clinical and commercial).
- Act as the primary legal contact for contract lifecycle oversight and governance.
- Provide strategic legal advice in contract law, pharmaceutical law, commercial law, competition law, and data privacy.
- Protect the company’s interests by identifying, mitigating, and managing legal risks while enabling business opportunities.
- Support global and transversal projects, including Patient Affairs initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, industry standards, and corporate policies.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, develop and maintain contract templates, and deliver internal legal training.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Global Legal teams (Centre of Excellence, IP, Data Privacy, Ethics & Compliance, Risk & Insurance) as well as Finance, Procurement, Quality, and Regulatory functions.
- Monitor regulatory developments in the healthcare sector and integrate learnings into internal policies and guidance.
Profile
- Qualified lawyer with 4+ years’ PQE in commercial and contract law, ideally within pharmaceuticals, life sciences, or healthcare.
- Proven expertise in complex contract drafting and negotiation.
- Strong understanding of the regulatory and commercial landscape of the life sciences industry.
- Solid knowledge of anti-bribery, competition law, and data protection frameworks.
- Business-minded, proactive, and solution-oriented.
- Excellent communication and influencing skills in a global matrix environment.
- High level of integrity and sound judgment.
- Fluent in English and French (written and spoken).
