Responsibilities

• Support Legal France Team members and especially the Senior Legal Counsel in dealing with day-to-day requests for legal advice coming from local Underwriting and Operations teams and from Colleagues of the network based abroad interested in pursuing business opportunities France;
• Be the point of contact and work as a true "Business Partner" for several underwriting departments;
• Review and validate various contractual documents ((re)insurance contracts, confidentiality agreements, mandates, brokerage protocols, commercial contracts ...);
• Propose to underwriters and underwriting assistants solutions that comply with applicable law and are adapted to the needs of AXA XL's clients and partners;
• Manage various projects and deadlines, particularly with regard to the implementation and monitoring of new products;
• Carry out a legal watch, participate in the updating of the legal culture and in the training of the company's underwriters, underwriting assistants, CDLs and claims handlers;
• Provide assistance to AXA XL teams on issues related to Multinational programs;
• Provide support, upon request, to AXA XL's international transversal teams;
• Helping with coordinating activities provided by external counsels.

Reporting

Reporting to the Head of Legal France & Southern Europe

Qualifications

• Masters in French private law, preferably in insurance law;
• Experience in an insurance company, brokerage firm and/or law firm
• Broad knowledge of insurance law, reinsurance, common contract law and tort law;
• Excellent writing skills, especially in contractual matters;
• Ability to adapt to a fluid work environment with rapidly changing needs and priorities;
• Ability to take initiative, to work independently and to evolve within a multidisciplinary team;
• Curiosity, attention to detail and pedagogy;
• Highly responsive and able to manage workload with minimal supervision;
• Ability to work in a team and to build strong relationships with others;
• Very good analytical and synthesis skills;
• Fluency in English & French is imperative, both orally and in writing.
