Position Overview

The Department of Environmental Science and Policy at the University of California, Davis invites applications for temporary lecturer positions to teach courses during the 2026‑2027 academic year. Compensation and appointment duration depend on the number of courses assigned and units per course.

• Salary range estimated at $70,977 – $98,249.
• Service periods:
  • Fall Quarter 2026: September 21 – December 11, 2026
  • Winter Quarter 2027: January 4 – March 19, 2027
  • Spring Quarter 2027: March 25 – June 10, 2027
• Application deadline: April 1, 2027 (apps accepted until filled).

Responsibilities

• Teach one or more undergraduate or graduate courses in Environmental Science and Policy and/or Environmental Policy and Management.
• Leverage professional expertise to fill course needs, including leave‐replacement assignments.
• Deliver course content for a full term (fall, winter, or spring quarter). Candidates may be asked to teach one to two courses per year.
• Provide student evaluations or other evidence of teaching effectiveness.

Qualifications

• Appropriate professional degree (Doctorate, Master’s with recognized professional excellence, or 30 units of graduate coursework with professional success).
• Demonstrated teaching ability and a developing record of scholarly or professional achievement in a relevant field.
• University‑level teaching experience highly desired.
• Project management experience (preferred).
