Job Description
The Lead Electronic‑Ultrasound Design Engineer will lead the design and implementation of the electronic interfaces for imaging probes, including analog and digital components, advanced characterization of MEMS and conventional transducers, lumped‑element modeling, and co‑simulation with ASICs using Cadence and LTSpice. The engineer will program advanced testing equipment and design test boards for transducer testing, oversee electronic design, prototype testing, and system‑level imaging experiments.
Essential Responsibilities
- Develop transducer characterization test platforms (architecture, programming)
- Test and characterize MEMS and conventional transducers
- Perform lumped‑element modeling and simulation of transducers with electronic interface models
- Conduct imaging tests with Verasonics and GE consoles
- Design and develop multiplexing data acquisition solutions for prototype imaging tests
- Execute upstream phase projects
- Evaluate and refine new concepts, develop innovations that can become benefits in new products
- Maintain safety and quality compliance with documented processes and procedures
Qualifications / Requirements
- PhD or master’s degree in Electronics Engineering (or equivalent) with strong acoustic/MEMS experience
- Experience in analog and digital interface of ultrasound transducers, MEMS devices or sensors (preferably medical products)
- Proficiency in water‑tank measurement with hydrophone, pulse‑echo, impedance measurement; manual and automated probe station
- Excellent hardware and embedded system programming skills; precision with sensitive measurement tools
- Strong understanding of MEMS processes (SIO, lithography, etching, CVD, PVD, plating, back grinding, dicing, molding, P&P, wire bonding, etc.)
- Knowledge of high‑volume MEMS/ASIC manufacturing, transducer packaging, and backend processes
- High proficiency in MATLAB, LTSpice/PSpice, Cadence Allegro/Altium Designer (Cadence Spectre and Virtuoso a plus)
- Very good level of English (written and oral)
- Project management concepts a plus
