Lead Electrical Engineer responsibilities in the energy sector, focusing on coordinating and delivering electrical engineering projects on a multi-project basis within a full-time contract role.
Responsibilities
- Lead Electrical Engineering: Oversee and guide the electrical engineering aspects of projects.
- Project Organization: Interface with project teams, clients, and other disciplines while managing reporting and planning.
- Technical Execution: Draft electrical specifications and requisitions, ensuring effective coordination of engineering efforts.
- Specification Development: Specify electrical equipment including LV & MV switchboards, LV motors, and VSDs.
- Technical Bid Preparation: Prepare technical bid comparison tables for vendor selection.
- Vendor Review: Review and comment on vendor drawings to ensure compliance with specifications.
- Protection Schemes: Develop protection schemes and typical diagrams for electrical systems.
- Power Calculations: Conduct consumer lists and power balance calculations to optimize system performance.
- Installation Studies: Perform installation studies to assess project feasibility.
- Interdisciplinary Meetings: Participate in project meetings with clients and suppliers to ensure alignment.
- Subcontractor Follow-up: Manage and follow up on engineering subcontractors based in India.
- Construction Work Packages: Prepare comprehensive construction work packages for project execution.
Qualifications
- Bilingual Proficiency: Advanced knowledge of French and English.
- Engineering Expertise: Strong knowledge of engineering methods, phases, specifications, and data sheets.
- Electrical Standards Mastery: In-depth understanding of electrical standards and calculation methods.
- Software Proficiency: Familiarity with Excel, Word, Visio; experience with Caneco BT, ETAP, and AutoCAD is a plus.
- Autonomy and Coordination: Ability to work independently while coordinating effectively with teams.
- Education & Experience: Master’s degree (Bac +5) in Electrical Engineering or related field.
- Certifications: Electrical authorization required.
- Experience: Minimum 10 years of experience in electrical engineering, with additional experience in revamping projects preferred.
