Lead Design – Renewable Energy Unit
Position Purpose
This role is responsible for ensuring the technical excellence, consistency, and compliance of all design deliverables—whether developed internally or by third‑party consultants. The Lead Design will oversee the full design lifecycle, including coordination of preliminary studies, permitting processes, and alignment with company standards, client requirements, and regulatory frameworks.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate the design process for renewable energy projects, primarily PV plants.
- Manage and mentor a multidisciplinary Design Team (civil, structural, electrical, mechanical).
- Review and validate designs from external consultants for quality, compliance, and constructability.
- Oversee preparation and submission of technical documentation required for permitting processes.
- Manage third‑party consultants conducting environmental, geotechnical, hydrological, seismic, and topographical studies.
- Ensure alignment of all design outputs with national regulations and international standards.
- Prepare or supervise conceptual, preliminary, and detailed design documentation and technical reports.
- Conduct technical due diligence prior to final design handover.
- Establish and maintain design control procedures, including documentation and version management.
- Collaborate closely with Supervision and O&M teams to ensure smooth project transition.
- Define and implement tools, workflows, and methodologies to improve design efficiency.
- Represent the company in technical meetings with Clients, Contractors, and Authorities.
- Oversee preparation of Bills of Quantities (BoQ) and technical specifications.
Main Requirements
- Master’s degree in Civil or Electrical Engineering.
- 8–10 years of relevant experience in engineering design and coordination, preferably in renewable energy.
- Strong technical expertise across civil, structural, electrical, and mechanical disciplines.
- Proven experience in design management, permitting processes, and consultant coordination.
- Familiarity with international standards (Eurocodes, IEC, EN).
- Experience working in multidisciplinary project environments.
- Strong understanding of the full project lifecycle (from feasibility to implementation).
- Excellent leadership and team coordination skills.
- High attention to detail and strong analytical thinking.
- Effective communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Proficiency in design software (AutoCAD, Civil 3D, PVsyst, PV case, MS Office).
- Fluency in English (written and spoken).
