Lead Data Scientist
Role Overview
We are looking for a Lead Data Scientist to guide our data science team in developing advanced machine learning solutions and data-driven insights. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise, proven leadership skills, and a deep understanding of how to leverage data to create business value. You will play a key role in shaping our data strategy, driving innovation, and fostering a culture of experimentation and excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Support Business Development initiatives, working closely with cross‑functional and international teams to ensure alignment on priorities, knowledge sharing, and scalability of solutions;
- Contribute to the potential setup and future growth of a structured data science team in France;
- Design, build, and deploy machine learning models, predictive algorithms, and recommendation systems;
- Partner with product, engineering, and business stakeholders to identify opportunities for data‑driven innovation;
- Define and drive the technical roadmap and methodological approach for data science initiatives;
- Ensure model quality, scalability, and continuous performance monitoring;
- Communicate analytical results and complex concepts clearly and effectively to executives and non‑technical stakeholders;
- Establish best practices in experimentation, documentation, reproducibility, and deployment;
- Act as a thought leader in advancing the company’s AI and data science capabilities.
Requirements
- Degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or related field (PhD is a strong plus);
- 6–8+ years of experience in data science, with a proven track record of delivering impactful ML/AI projects;
- Strong proficiency in Python, R, or similar languages, and experience with ML libraries (scikit‑learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch, etc.);
- Solid knowledge of machine learning algorithms, statistical modeling, NLP and/or computer vision;
- Hands‑on experience with big data frameworks (Spark, Hadoop) and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure);
- Ability to translate complex business problems into data‑driven solutions;
- Demonstrated experience managing technical teams and leading cross‑functional projects;
- Fluent in English and French ;
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
