Compensation: up to €80,000 basic salary + 10% Bonus + health insurance + 25 days annual leave + RTT (8-10 days per annum)
The Lead Certification Engineer, as part of the Certification Team, collaborates with the Head of Certification and takes part in all new aeronautic projects. This key role, as a recognized technical leader, and primary regulatory will drive new seat certifications from (E)TSO application to delivery, provide the required substantiation and qualification documentation to OEMs and aviation authorities, and supervise the continued airworthiness of our in‑service seat fleets throughout their life cycle.
Main Missions
- Own conformity, airworthiness, and approval processes from early development through serial production, ensuring alignment with authority requirements.
- In collaboration with the Head of Certification, manage certification and qualification projects for Expliseat products. Define the certification and qualification roadmaps and the associated means of compliance.
- Act as the internal Technical Leader and primary regulatory interface, driving certification and production compliance.
- Serve as the bridge between design, manufacturing, and regulatory teams to deliver certifiable and compliant products.
- Lead engagement with certification authorities (FAA, EASA, ANAC, etc.) and contribute to current programs and shaping future regulatory frameworks by attending expert groups and seat committees to keep up with regulation evolutions.
- Prepare and validate regulatory documentation (Certification Plans, test programs, compliance matrices, airworthiness substantiation reports) within program milestones, and support approval processes.
- Rationalize the number of prototypes required for a given certification or qualification campaign in cooperation with Product and Programs departments.
- Take part in Product Design reviews and advise the engineering team regarding the use of new materials and new designs with respect to certification requirements (flammability, passenger safety, etc.)
- Supervise the process for design modifications in compliance with EASA regulations and OEM requirements (Equipment Definition Evolution Sheets, MODIF, TN, etc.).
- Ensure internal milestones of the Certification Team (documents deliverables) are achieved and aligned with project timelines.
- Supervise continuous improvement of certification practice and maintain awareness of certification topics within the company.
- Analyse customer requests for upgrades and production derogations from an airworthiness perspective and provide guidance on the acceptability of the design changes.
