Lead BI & Analytics
Context & Mission
Karos is strengthening its Business Intelligence function to support both (1) internal decision-making and performance monitoring and (2) high-value client analytics.
As Lead BI & Analytics, your mission is to drive this culture shift towards more analytics :
-
Define and run the BI operating model, own the BI stack and data definitions , and turn data into business insights to feed decision making
-
Turn data into client insights and build an offer that could be sold to clients
-
Own the analytics layer from source data to dashboards , including data modeling, transformation pipelines, semantic definitions, reporting governance, and self‑service analytics capabilities.
-
Drive buy‑in from the organisation : train teams on BI tools and reporting, promote self‑service analytics, and drive adoption of data‑driven decision‑making across the company.
Reporting line: Chief Transformation & Performance Officer (ExCom member)
Manages: BI Analyst (junior/execution profile)
Key stakeholders: this role requires strong cross‑team collaboration, in particular with ExCom members, Product & Tech teams, Clients teams
Key Responsibilities
1) Company performance monitoring at ExCom level and within teams
-
Partner with each ExCom member to define and design the KPIs and dashboards needed to track performance on their scope: at ExCom level and for their team
-
Bridge with Product & Tech teams to ensure dashboards are powered by clean, consistent, well‑structured data .
-
Own or strongly influence choices and set up of tooling : Investigate and leverage all functionalities, as well as IA in order to optimise reporting and facilitate adoptions by the teams
Current tools are: Metabase for carpooling usage tracking, Hubspot for Revenue tracking, Planhat for Customer Success Management
-
Train and support all teams to use dashboards and Metabase effectively , increasing autonomy while maintaining governance.
2) BI data layer and reporting architecture ownership
- Own the BI data layer and reporting architecture : design and maintain data models, transformation pipelines, and semantic definitions (dbt, ETL/ELT processes, data marts, metric definitions) in collaboration with Product & Tech teams, ensuring reportings are scalable, reliable, and trusted.
3) Strategic ad hoc analyses (Company level and for clients)
- Lead or frame high-value ad hoc analyses to inform key strategic decisions (eg. client churn deep dive, usage growth deep dive…)
4) Ad hoc BI requests (internal & for clients)
-
Manage the BI Analyst , who’s in charge of delivering ad hoc analyses requested by all teams : provide framing, standards, and quality bar for delivery and prioritise BI requests with them .
-
Improve how the BI requests are operated and explore pushing further self‑serve (through IA for example)
-
Structure a scalable BI offer for clients with enough perceived value to drive revenue
Success Criteria (first 3–6 months)
-
ExCom KPI framework agreed and delivered with clear definitions and trusted dashboards.
-
BI requests prioritisation process running smoothly (clear arbitration, predictable delivery).
