Knowledge Management Lawyer (M&A/Private Equity)
About the Role
We are seeking a Knowledge Management Lawyer in our market‑leading Mergers & Acquisitions ("M&A") and Private Equity practice group in Paris to support the delivery of a broad portfolio of knowledge resources. The role will be located in our Paris office and may be eligible for a flexible working schedule that allows for a hybrid and in‑office presence.
Responsibilities
- Monitoring current legal, regulatory, and market developments, and keeping attorneys and clients abreast of these developments through emails, bulletins, training or other appropriate means.
- Drafting and maintaining standard forms, templates, guidance notes and other knowledge resources to help our attorneys to work at the highest level.
- Identifying, collecting, and organizing precedent and other knowledge materials for the Practice in the relevant knowledge‑management database.
- Supporting the practice’s internal training programs for the benefit of associates and trainees.
- Developing and maintaining a collection of key terms from prior M&A and Private Equity transactions and analysing such terms for trends and market developments.
- Acting as a sounding board for ad hoc legal and technical queries from attorneys.
- Assisting the firm’s efforts to facilitate the adoption and uptake of AI tools and other innovative technology within the M&A and Private Equity practice.
- Interacting and collaborating with the firm’s other KM Lawyers and with the Innovation, Business Development, Brand & Communications, Research & Library, and other departments on a professional level.
- Participating in external forums with members of the wider legal community and external service providers to keep abreast of regulatory and industry developments.
Desired Qualities
- Attorney ("avocat(e)") qualified in France.
- Highly organized with meticulous attention to detail.
- Self‑starter willing to take initiative and able to perform responsibilities without close supervision.
Requirements
- Master’s degree (M2) in Law (or equivalent).
- A minimum of five (5) years’ post‑qualification experience as a practising attorney in M&A and Private Equity in a leading international law firm.
- Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal, in French and English, and the ability to interact effectively with people at all organisational levels of the firm.
- The ability to work independently on and deliver projects of significant complexity on a timely basis.
