Juvenile Intake Officer (Full-Time)

The Williamson County Government Juvenile Services Department is accepting applications for a full-time male Juvenile Detention Intake Officers for detainees. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for juvenile offenders while promoting their rehabilitation and personal growth. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in case management, social work, and conflict management.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and monitor the activities of juvenile offenders in a correctional facility
• Conduct regular security checks to ensure the safety of staff and residents
• Implement behavior management programs to promote positive change
• Provide counseling and support to residents, addressing their emotional and behavioral needs
• Collaborate with other staff members to develop individualized treatment plans
• Maintain accurate records of resident behavior, progress, and incidents
• Enforce facility rules and regulations to maintain order and discipline
• Respond to emergencies and security threats in a calm and effective manner
• Conduct searches of residents, their living areas, and common areas as necessary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent required; Bachelor's degree in social work or related field preferred
• Valid certificate in corrections or law enforcement is a plus
• Proven experience in case management or social work with at-risk youth
• Strong understanding of conflict management techniques
• Familiarity with motivational interviewing strategies
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle difficult situations with professionalism
• Physical stamina to perform job duties, including standing, walking, and restraining individuals if necessary

This position will be working varied shifts including nights, weekends and holidays.
