Junior Systems Specialist

Responsibilities

• Work under the supervision of the System Specialist.
• Assist the System Specialist and/or technician in planning and execution of work.
• Installation and support on Servers and Storage Hardware, Unix/linux Operating Systems such as Redhat Linux, CENTOS and others.
• Perform health checks on installed systems and prepare report.
• Carry out customer trainings as may be required.
• Perform pre-sales activities for example, preparation of tender proposals and quotes to customers.
• Perform site surveys and draw list of materials and requirements.
• Must be apt to work in teams.
• Must have the ability to work under stressful, very demanding customer environment.
• Must have good knowledge and ability to abide and deliver according to international quality standards for IT Installations.
• Must show ability and willingness to continually improve, learn and pursue advance technical training.
• Must have knowledge of health and safety principles.
• Complete professional certifications like IBM Hardware and Oracle Hardware and others.
• Subject to requirements of projects, the above duties & responsibilities are not only limited to the above stated list.
• Other cognate duties & responsibilities as may be agreed by both parties.

Profile

• Should be a degree holder in Computer Science, Information Technology, System Administration, or a closely related field.
• Knowledge in Unix/linux Operating Systems.
• Should be available to work at odd hours - Include Saturdays, Public Holidays and Sundays.
• Knowledge of virtualization.
• Fresh Graduates or 6 months experience would be an advantage.
• Good Communication Skills.
