Junior Professional in Space Transportation Strategy, Market Analysis and Engineering
Location: ESA Headquarters, Paris, France or other site as required. Temporary relocations may be required.
Duties
- Strengthen the Directorate’s analytical and data management capabilities to support space transportation strategy and launch service activities.
- Develop and maintain a consolidated data environment, including unified databases and analytical tools covering the global launch service offer, market demand, CLS information, and evolving Directorate needs.
- Monitor and analyze the global space transportation landscape: worldwide launch systems, launch service providers, spaceports, regulatory frameworks, and demand accessible to European launch service providers.
- Deliver analytical inputs on space transportation policies, strategies, regulatory developments, business and market trends, and environmental aspects.
- Contribute to specific assessments and analyses requested by other teams within the Directorate.
Development Programme
Participation in technical and key skills training courses, internal rotations, or external secondments to broaden professional experience.
Technical Competencies
- Knowledge of technical domains related to space transportation systems.
- Experience with setting up, managing and exploiting databases.
- Proficiency in IT tools such as Microsoft Power BI, Excel, Access for dashboards and market intelligence.
- Experience performing relevant market intelligence analyses.

Education and Professional Experience
A master’s degree in engineering or a relevant technical discipline, involving interdisciplinary research, is required. Up to three years of professional experience after the master’s is required.
Additional Requirements
- Knowledge of main launch system and payload technical features, satellite applications, and related regulations and policies.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills, able to work in a multicultural environment independently and in small teams.
- Good analytical and writing skills.
- Proficient in English; knowledge of French is required; knowledge of another Member State language is an asset.
