Junior Product Builder
Streem Energy builds SaaS software to help renewable energy players manage complex operations: data flows, contracts, customer onboarding, reporting, business workflows, automation, and data quality.
We are looking for a Junior Product Builder to join the Product team and build new product features from broad product needs.
At Streem, we are moving towards a product‑building model where builders own problems end to end: understanding the user need, breaking it down, designing the solution and its architecture, building it, testing it with users, and ensuring it creates real value.
This role sits at the intersection of product, technology, and the renewable energy business. You will work on problems that require understanding how European electricity markets work in practice: renewable asset operations, energy valuation, market mechanisms, contracts, data flows, forecasting, customer workflows, and operational constraints.
The scope is broad: product, data, AI, architecture, workflows, operations, energy, user experience, and solution development. You will need to learn fast, adapt quickly, and take ownership of topics end to end.
You will work on:
- Understanding broad product needs and turning them into clear product features.
- Learning how renewable energy is operated, valued, and optimized across European electricity markets.
- Designing workflows, interfaces, internal tools, or user‑facing functionalities.
- Developing the solutions you design, using the right tools for the problem.
- Building fast prototypes or MVPs and turning them into usable product features.
- Using AI to accelerate analysis, design, automation, and product development.
- Working with energy and operational data: structuring analyses, identifying inconsistencies, and automating treatments.
- Solving product logic, workflow, algorithmic, or optimization problems.
- Understanding the functional and technical architecture of the product.
- Challenging solution quality: simplicity, robustness, maintainability, scalability, and user experience.
- Testing quickly with users, collecting feedback, and iterating.
This is a demanding role. You will be expected to handle complex topics, learn quickly across a broad scope, make decisions with incomplete information, and deliver useful solutions without waiting for every detail to be specified.
It is also a high‑ownership role: you will take topics from initial problem framing to a first usable feature, and see the impact of your work quickly on the product and operations.
We are looking for a high‑potential junior profile from a top engineering school or an equivalent highly selective scientific program.
You have 0–2 years of experience, including internships, apprenticeships, entrepreneurial projects, demanding student projects, or personal technical projects.
You do not need to come from a traditional software engineering background. However, you must have strong engineering fundamentals: the ability to understand complex systems, reason rigorously, structure problems clearly, and build concrete solutions with the right tools.
Qualifications
- A top‑tier generalist engineering or scientific background.
- Strong analytical, abstraction, and problem‑solving skills.
- A strong sense of ownership: you like taking responsibility for a topic, moving it forward, making decisions, unblocking issues, and delivering.
- The ability to learn quickly across a broad scope: product, data, AI, architecture, workflows, operations, and energy markets.
- A genuine interest in renewable energy, electricity markets, and the way energy assets are operated, valued, and optimized in Europe.
- A builder mindset: you like turning ideas into prototypes, workflows, automations, internal tools, or usable product features.
- The ability to reason through product logic, algorithmic problems, workflow design, or optimization topics.
- Comfort with modern tools: generative AI, advanced spreadsheets, databases, APIs, no‑code/low‑code tools, scripts, or data tools.
- The ability to understand and challenge technical choices, even if you are not a pure software engineer.
- Clear communication with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
- High standards for simplicity, consistency, robustness, and user impact.
- Fluency in French and English.
You will enjoy this role if you want to work across many topics, understand how complex systems work in depth, build quickly, iterate fast, and see the concrete impact of your work.
This role is demanding and will not suit everyone. It is probably not for you if you are looking for a narrow scope, perfectly defined tickets, slow‑paced projects, or a role where you only write specifications without building.
