Junior Construction Project Manager
Location: France
Working pattern: Minimum three days per week on site
Languages: Fluent French and English
ECC Group is recruiting on behalf of a major international organisation seeking a Junior Construction Project Manager to support the delivery of a technically complex construction project in the Île-de-France region.
This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious construction or engineering professional who already has solid project experience and now wants to develop within the fast-growing data centre sector.
Working alongside experienced project managers and technical specialists, you will help coordinate the project from design and construction through to commissioning and final handover.
The role
You will support the day-to-day planning, coordination and reporting of construction activities, working closely with contractors, consultants, suppliers and internal project stakeholders.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting project delivery from design through construction, commissioning and handover
- Monitoring progress against the project programme and preparing regular reports
- Coordinating contractors, consultants, vendors and internal teams
- Attending project meetings and producing minutes, action trackers and progress updates
- Supporting the onboarding of consultants and new project resources
- Coordinating site visits, access requests and visitor arrangements
- Escorting visitors and explaining current construction activities
- Conducting site inspections and reporting on construction progress
- Completing spot checks against drawings, specifications and project requirements
- Managing snagging, punch-list and issue registers through to close-out
- Coordinating the mobilisation, access and supervision of directly appointed contractors
- Supporting design, commissioning and handover activities
- Tracking variation works and outstanding stakeholder actions
- Assisting with purchase orders, invoice validation and change-order reviews
- Working with the Cost Manager to monitor expenditure and project budgets
- Maintaining accurate documentation for governance, regulatory and audit purposes
- Supporting project document-control systems and online collaboration platforms
- Promoting a strong safety culture and reporting safety observations
- Monitoring contractor compliance with health and safety requirements
- Supporting site quality assurance and quality-control processes
The successful candidate will gain valuable exposure to critical data centre infrastructure, including:
- Electrical distribution systems
- UPS and backup power
- Standby generators
- Cooling and HVAC systems
- Fire detection and suppression
- Building Management Systems
- Testing, commissioning and operational handover
Previous data centre experience would be advantageous, but candidates from other technically complex construction environments are also encouraged to apply.
About you
We are looking for someone with:
- A bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related discipline
- Proven experience within construction, engineering or project management
- Fluent French and English communication skills
- The ability to read and understand construction drawings and specifications
- Experience coordinating contractors, consultants or multidisciplinary stakeholders
- Strong organisational, reporting and time-management skills
- Confidence using Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint
- A practical, detail-focused approach to problem-solving
- The ability to work effectively in a fast-paced project environment
- A collaborative attitude and the confidence to follow up actions through to completion
- Availability to work on the site at least three days per week
Experience with Autodesk Construction Cloud or a similar project collaboration platform would be beneficial.
