Junior Accountant

Requirements

• You have 1 to 3 years of experience in accounting, finance, or a related field (including internships or apprenticeships)
• You are organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
• You are curious and eager to learn: Spendesk is a fast-evolving environment and we value people who embrace change
• You have good communication skills, both written and oral, and you are comfortable working in a team
• You have a basic understanding of accounting principles (French GAAP is a plus)
• You are comfortable working with spreadsheets and ideally have some exposure to an ERP (NetSuite is a plus, but not required)
• You are fluent in French and English (our team is international!)

What the job involves

• As part of the Accounting team, you will play a key role in supporting the Finance department in its day-to-day operations.
• You will contribute to the accuracy and efficiency of our accounting processes across Spendesk's entities, while working closely with the Finance and operational teams of Spendesk.
• You will report to the Head of Finance ops and be based out of our Paris office
• Oversee the monthly, quarterly, and yearly closing process: assist in reconciling accounts, preparing journal entries, and ensuring the accuracy and completeness of financial data across entities
• Comply with compliance and regulatory obligations: contribute to VAT filings, tax on salaries, regulatory reportings (RUBA, COREP...) and other financial declarations (financial statements...)
• Handle accounts payable and receivable: process invoices, track payments, and manage reconciliations efficiently using Spendesk's platform
• Contribute to intercompany processes: manage intercompany billing and reconciliation across subsidiaries
• Collaborate cross-functionally: work with other departments (HR, Legal, Operations) to gather the information needed for accurate bookkeeping
• Become a Spendesk platform expert: use and test the platform daily, contributing to process improvement and automation initiatives
• Support ad hoc finance operations tasks: assist on various finance projects as the team scales
