Judicial District Manager II- JDM8
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily operations and fiscal management of the assigned district and supervise staff.
- Administer all personnel policies and procedures, including retirement, benefits, performance evaluation, disciplinary actions, grievances, investigations, time/leave recording, and staff development, in accordance with Department of Adult Correction policy and North Carolina General Statutes.
- Provide leadership to front‑line supervisors, analyze operations to ensure sanction compliance, and identify trends in offender caseloads.
- Develop appropriate staffing plans to meet offenders’ needs.
- Review work performance of subordinate personnel, balancing assignments and ensuring consistency with performance standards through case audits, data review, reports, and the NCVIP evaluation system.
- Initiate, approve, update, and maintain written contract agreements with placement agencies and maintain CSAS security clearance.
- Act as the chief liaison between Community Supervision, the public, community agencies, law enforcement, and other criminal‑justice agencies; serve as point of contact for media issues and participate in local task forces, boards, and committees.
- Oversee the use of computer technology within the district, encouraging staff to employ technology to enhance efficiency.

- Strong delegation skills and ability to guide complex assignments ensuring accuracy, effectiveness, and accountability.
- Experience planning and executing community supervision activities incorporating DAC/DCS objectives and policies.
- Knowledge of Division personnel policies and procedures.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to establish and maintain working relationships across diverse backgrounds and organizational levels through respectful, adaptive communication and collaboration.
Salary Range
$57,983.00 - $101,470.00
Position Details
Full‑time (40 hours per week).
Minimum Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution and at least four (4) years of experience in a probation/parole officer or corrections administrator role that involves application and interpretation of policies and development of procedures. Additionally, a minimum of two (2) years in a supervisory role such as chief probation and parole officer, assistant judicial district manager, judicial district manager, or senior corrections administrator in a consultative capacity. Equivalent combinations of education and experience are acceptable.
