Job Description

Please note that the role is on-site. Talan provides visa sponsorship for French, Mexican, and Canadian citizens.

We are seeking a talented Software Engineer to join our team and work on Financial IT projects. The ideal candidate will have expertise in Core Java, multithreading , and be passionate about developing new features on Trade Platforms .

Role and responsibilities

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Develop pricing and electronic markets applications.
• Collaborate with traders, developers, quants, business analysts, and vendors to develop an effective platform.
• Work with a team of global developers to set specifications for new processes.
• Provide second-line support for applications used by front-office users.
• Deliver presentations to Application Support, Trading, Quants, and other teams.
• Participate in the SDLC process and continually work to improve it.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Math, Science, or Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of software development experience using Java 7+ .
• Experience in a front-office trading environment is mandatory .
• Strong skills in multithreading and concurrent programming.
• Experience with asynchronous and event-driven programming, developing real-time applications, and building distributed systems.
• Knowledge of networks and topologies.
• Solid understanding of common algorithms.
• Experience working with Linux environments, Oracle / SQL Server, and market connectivity (FIX).
• Excellent oral and written communication skills, proactive team player with a “can-do” attitude, and excellent analytical problem-solving abilities.

Desired skills

• Experience in e-trading.
• Knowledge of Bonds, Swaps, Equities, etc.

The salary range for this role is US$115,000 - US$160,000.
