Java Application Server Engineer (J2EE)

Location: Paris, Île-de-France, France. 4 days onsite, 10+ years of experience required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the operational condition of J2EE hosting platforms (supervision, availability, resilience – BCP & DRP).
• Deploy and operate JEE application servers (JBoss, Tomcat, FatJar) and web servers (Apache).
• Integrate, test, and validate operating procedures.
• Implement and execute the patch management policy and handle obsolescence of web & application servers.
• Perform JVM sizing and capacity planning.
• Provide support for hosted applications: performance analysis, error diagnosis, and tuning.
• Assist in project implementation and contribute to the definition of standard JEE technical components.
• Operational maintenance of J2EE platforms.
• Deployment and operation of JBoss, Tomcat, FatJar, Apache.
• Validate and document operating procedures.
• Execute patching and obsolescence plans.
• Automate scripts and workflows.
• Prepare resource sizing and JVM planning reports.
• Document performance and tuning support.

Mandatory Skills

• Extensive experience in production environments with JBoss, Tomcat, FatJar.
• Apache.
• SHELL scripting, Ansible, Jenkins.
• Patch management and obsolescence handling.
• Operating procedure validation.
• Supervision and log analysis (must read and interpret logs).

Appreciated Skills

• Development knowledge: Unix Shell, Perl, PHP, Python, Git, GitHub.
• JIRA.
• SSL.
• ZABBIX.
• Familiarity with Apache ecosystem and application relaunch processes.
