January 2027 - Internship - Lazard Investment Banking Intern (Central Eastern Europe Team) - Paris
Lazard CEE team is located in Paris, as part of Lazard Freres Financial Advisory, it specializes in mandates in Central and Eastern Europe, CIS, Greece and Turkey. The team focuses on cross‑product (Merger & Acquisitions, Debt Advisory and Restructuring) and cross‑sector (TMT, Retail, Healthcare, Transportation, Energy, etc.) engagements.
The CEE team benefits from a recognized track‑record of M&A deals across the whole CEE, CIS, Turkey and Greece geographies, while being based in Paris. In 2024, it has received the prestigious Euromoney Award for CEE’s Best Bank for Advisory.
The internship position is available for 6 months from January 2027 and is based in Paris.
You will join an international core team of 6 bankers having worked on more than 40 transactions over the last 6 years, such as the acquisition of NetTV Plus, DTH and Sport Klub rights licenses from United Group by Telekom Srbija (2025, Balkans), United Group’s towers acquisition by Tawal (2023, Balkans – Europe Tower Deal of the Year, the only $1bn+ Middle Eastern investment in the region), equity restructuring of Fortenova underwritten by Open Pass (2023, Croatia), Naftogaz Group $835m debt restructuring (2023, Ukraine), the acquisition of Borealis by Agrofert (2022, Czech Republic), the sale of 50% stake of FiberForce by Illiad/Play (2022, Poland), IPO of Allegro (2020, Poland). The CEE team works alongside Lazard’s Sovereign Advisory team and individual sector teams on a case‑by‑case basis.
We’ll Trust You To
- Preparation of presentation materials in relation to M&A, ECM, DCM, and sovereign advisory for clients in all major industries
- Performance of company valuations using techniques such as discounted cash flow, leveraged buyout, comparable listed companies, or transactions
- Ongoing transaction execution
- Interaction with Lazard bankers’ network worldwide to support our clients
You’ll Need To Have
- Strong previous experience in Finance or Consulting (i.a. off‑cycle/summer internships)
- Excellent academic credentials
- International background coupled with knowledge of the CEE region
- You speak fluently a regional language (Polish, Czech, Romanian, Serbian, Croatian, Russian, etc.). Candidates with no fluency in a CEE regional language will not be considered
Non‑EU students are expected to manage independently all related administrative and work‑permit topics.
