IT System & DevOps Engineer

We are seeking a versatile and highly motivated IT Systems & DevOps Engineer to join our Software Department.

In this hands‑on role, you will design, implement, and manage IT infrastructure and services that power both our ground‑based and space‑related systems, as well as supporting our entire team in accomplishing their missions.

You’ll play a critical role in supporting our hybrid cloud and on‑premises environments, ensuring secure and reliable operations across our production, development, and office networks.

The position is based in Bordeaux, with occasional travels to our other sites in Luxembourg, Germany, Netherlands and Italy.

Key Responsibilities

Infrastructure & Networking

• Set up and maintain secure site‑to‑site VPNs between office locations and production environments.
• Configure and secure on‑premises and cloud‑based networks (firewalls, VLANs, NAT, routing, etc.).
• Manage Docker containers and Linux‑based services for internal tools and development environments.
• Procurement of all hardware, computing & network infrastructure.

Automation & Scripting

• Automate server and system provisioning using PowerShell, Kubernetes, Ansible.
• Develop and maintain internal tools and scripts to improve team productivity and reduce manual effort.

Server & Systems Management

• Deploy and maintain Linux servers (including patching, backups, and monitoring).
• Deploy and maintain embedded servers (e.g., Raspberry Pi and Jetson) running within our simulation environments or deployed in orbit.

Security & Compliance

• Apply best practices for access control, encryption, and auditing.
• Design secure environments for critical systems (e.g., production telemetry, command/control).
• Manage Active Directory, Azure AD, and associated authentication integrations.
• Ensure secure configuration of internal services (Git servers, Grafana dashboards, databases, etc.).

End‑user & Dev Team Support

• Provide advanced IT support when needed (e.g., remote setup, device provisioning, troubleshooting).
• Support developers and end‑users with infrastructure needs and tooling improvements.
• Administer production tools (Jira, SharePoint, …).

Software Development Support

• Develop and maintain internal C#/.NET services and tools for system orchestration or backend workflows.
• Work closely with the software team to support DevOps pipelines and system integration needs.

Required Skills & Experience

• Strong proficiency of Azure Portal and PowerShell for system automation.
• Experience configuring VPNs (OpenVPN, Azure PrivateNetwork, IPsec) and managing secure networks.
• Solid background in C#/.NET Core for backend or tooling or development.
• Familiarity with Kubernetes, Docker, Ansible, Git, CI/CD workflows, and modern DevOps practices.
• A security‑first mindset in infrastructure and application design.
• Experience with embedded or IoT systems a plus.
• Cybersecurity credentials.
