Role Description

We are looking for hands-on IT Support Engineers along with MSSQL DBA’s for a large project to provide onsite technical support within manufacturing and industrial locations.

The role will focus primarily on day-to-day user support, desktop support, application support and local IT troubleshooting , while also assisting with infrastructure and project activities such as Windows upgrades, device refreshes, network issues and local systems support.

This is a broad support role. Candidates are not expected to be specialists in every technology listed , but should have a good general IT support background and be comfortable working independently onsite.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide onsite 1st/2nd/3rd line IT support to users. (Either 1st or 2nd or 3rd - depending on your experience)
• Troubleshoot Windows desktops, laptops, peripherals and standard office applications.
• Support Microsoft Windows and Microsoft 365 environments.
• Assist users with hardware, software, login, connectivity and application issues.
• Support local networking and connectivity issues.
• Assist with Windows upgrades, PC refreshes and migration projects .
• Support local printers, scanners and other workplace technology.
• Provide basic support around Cisco networking .
• Support virtual environments such as VMware where required.
• Assist with MS SQL-related application/database issues and escalate specialist DBA issues where necessary.
• Support MES / manufacturing systems used within the plant.
• Assist with CAD and engineering applications .
• Support backup/recovery tools, including Rubrik , where used.
• Log, manage and resolve incidents and service requests.
• Liaise with central IT teams and specialist support teams when escalation is required.
• Maintain local IT documentation and asset information.
• Support neighbouring sites where practical and geographically appropriate.
• Provide holiday/sickness cover where required.

Essential Skills

• Experience in either IT Support, Desktop Support, Service Desk, Field Support or Site Support or DBA .
• Strong Windows desktop support skills.
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Office / Microsoft 365.
• Comfortable troubleshooting hardware and software issues.
• Basic networking knowledge.
• Good communication and customer-facing skills.
