Mission Description

Our client is a leading European organization operating critical digital infrastructure and business services across an international environment.

To ensure a high-quality IT experience for employees and visitors at its Brussels office, the organisation is seeking an IT Modern Workplace & Support Specialist who will act as the primary on‑site IT contact and take ownership of workplace technology operations.

This is a highly autonomous role where the consultant will serve as the Single Point of Contact (SPOC) for all local IT‑related requests, incidents, assets, and end‑user support activities. The successful candidate will independently manage day‑to‑day support operations while coordinating with central IT teams and external suppliers when required.

Service Description

As the local IT SPOC, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of workplace technology services and delivering professional, responsive support to end users.

You will own the full lifecycle of incidents, service requests, workplace assets, and local IT operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary on‑site IT contact for all local employees and visitors.
  • Serve as the Single Point of Contact (SPOC) for workplace support activities.
  • Own and manage the complete lifecycle of incidents and service requests.
  • Manage and prioritize tickets through Jira Service Management and related ITSM platforms.
  • Administer and support Microsoft 365 services including Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint Online, Intune, Entra ID, and related collaboration platforms.
  • Manage user accounts, access rights, mailboxes, distribution groups, meeting rooms, and collaboration services.
  • Troubleshoot hardware, software, network connectivity, and workplace‑related issues.
  • Perform onboarding and off‑boarding activities for employees and contractors.
  • Configure, deploy, and support laptops, mobile devices, peripherals, and meeting room equipment.
  • Maintain inventory and asset management records for all local IT equipment.
  • Coordinate procurement, stock management, replacement, deployment, and disposal of workplace hardware.
  • Ensure availability of workplace equipment, accessories, and spare devices.
  • Monitor local IT infrastructure and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Create and maintain operational documentation, procedures, and knowledge articles.
  • Assist with project coordination, meeting organization, administrative follow‑up, and stakeholder communication.
  • Collaborate with infrastructure, security, and application teams on escalated issues.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and workplace modernization projects.

Mandatory Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years of professional experience in IT Support, Workplace Engineering, or End‑User Services.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a comparable autonomous workplace support role.
  • Proven ability to operate independently and manage workload with minimal supervision.
  • Strong experience administering:
    • Microsoft 365
    • Exchange Online
    • Microsoft Teams
    • SharePoint Online
  • Strong experience configuring and troubleshooting end‑user devices including laptops, mobile devices, and tablets.
  • Experience managing user accounts, identities, permissions, and workplace services.
  • Experience with Jira Service Management, Jira Cloud, Atlassian Cloud, or comparable ticketing platforms.
  • Experience with IT asset management, stock management, and inventory control processes.
  • Knowledge of patch management solutions in cloud environments.
  • Familiarity with Zero Trust security principles.
  • Experience supporting international and multi‑stakeholder environments.
  • Strong understanding of IT service management processes and ITIL principles.
  • Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to coordinate administrative activities, meetings, and operational follow‑up.
  • Good knowledge of modern networking concepts and enterprise workplace technologies.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Access).

Nice‑to‑Have Skills

  • PowerShell scripting and automation.
  • VMware and/or Hyper‑V administration.
  • Backup, monitoring, and endpoint security solutions.
  • CRM platform experience.
  • Experience with modern network technologies and cloud‑managed environments.
  • Experience supporting international organisations or corporate headquarters environments.
