IT Modern Workplace & Support Specialist
Our client is looking for an IT Modern Workplace & Support Specialist to ensure a high-quality IT experience for employees and visitors at its Brussels office.
The successful candidate will act as the primary on-site IT contact and take ownership of workplace technology operations.
This is a highly autonomous role where the consultant will serve as the Single Point of Contact (SPOC) for all local IT-related requests, incidents, assets, and end-user support activities.
Service Description
As the local IT SPOC, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of workplace technology services, ensuring users receive efficient, professional, and timely support.
You will independently manage incidents, service requests, and equipment lifecycle activities while coordinating with central IT teams and external suppliers whenever required.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the primary on-site IT contact for all local employees and visitors.
- Serve as the Single Point of Contact (SPOC) for workplace and end-user support activities.
- Own and manage the complete lifecycle of IT incidents and service requests.
- Administer and support Microsoft 365 services including Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint Online, Intune, and Entra ID.
- Manage user accounts, access rights, mailboxes, distribution groups, meeting rooms, and collaboration platforms.
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, network connectivity, and workplace-related issues.
- Perform onboarding and offboarding activities for employees and contractors.
- Manage laptops, mobile devices, peripherals, and meeting room technology.
- Maintain inventory and asset management records for all local IT equipment.
- Coordinate procurement, replacement, deployment, and disposal of workplace hardware.
- Ensure stock control and availability of workplace equipment and accessories.
- Monitor local IT infrastructure and proactively identify improvement opportunities.
- Create and maintain operational documentation and user procedures.
- Collaborate with central infrastructure, security, and application teams on escalated issues.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives for workplace services.
Mandatory Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of experience in IT Support, Workplace Engineering, or End-User Services.
- Proven experience working autonomously in an on-site support environment.
- Strong experience with: Microsoft 365, Exchange Online, Microsoft Teams, SharePoint Online, Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD), Microsoft Intune
- A Computer Science degree in Information Technology. Additional education in IT, Service Management, or Project Management is considered a plus.
- At least 5 years of proven full-time professional experience in IT, including a minimum of 3 years in a comparable position.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to determine the most appropriate solution to identified incidents or problems.
- Experience providing IT support in an international environment.
- Strong experience deploying, administering, and managing the Microsoft Azure/Office 365 stack (Office 365, Azure AD, Intune, Defender, Teams, and Teams Room System) on user devices, accounts, and profiles.
- Experience configuring and troubleshooting end-user devices (laptops, tablets, etc.).
- Familiarity with next-generation networking solutions (Meraki).
- Experience with remote assistance solutions (LogMeIn, TeamViewer).
- Experience using ticketing platforms (Atlassian Cloud, Jira Cloud).
- Knowledge of cloud-based patch management solutions.
- Familiarity with Zero Trust security principles.
- Very good knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Access).
- Excellent understanding of IT project terminology.
- Good understanding of IT processes and environments.
- Experience supporting project management in an international, multi-stakeholder environment.
- Experience organizing meetings independently, taking minutes, coordinating administrative activities, and preparing documentation.
- Flexibility to take on additional responsibilities in a dynamic and evolving IT environment.
- Ability to manage workload independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong interpersonal skills and team-oriented mindset.
Nice-to-Have Skills
- PowerShell scripting and automation.
- VMware and/or Hyper-V administration.
- Experience with backup, monitoring, and endpoint security solutions.
- Experience with CRM platforms.
- Knowledge of financial services, payments, or fintech environments.
