The IT Infrastructure Engineer is responsible for the design, integration, administration and evolution of the Group’s IT infrastructures, whether on-premises, cloud-based or hybrid.
The role ensures the availability, performance, security and compliance of technical platforms in an industrial and regulated environment, including GMP / GxP requirements.
The IT Infrastructure Engineer works in line with architecture standards, cybersecurity requirements and quality policies.
The role actively contributes to infrastructure modernisation, service industrialisation and the continuous improvement of information system resilience.
Main Responsibilities
Infrastructure Engineering and Administration
- Design, deploy and maintain on-premises, cloud and hybrid infrastructures, including IaaS and PaaS environments.
- Administer Windows Server and Linux environments.
- Manage virtualisation and containerisation platforms, including VMware, Hyper‑V, Kubernetes and Docker.
- Define and maintain high‑availability, backup, disaster recovery and business continuity architectures.
- Contribute to the definition of infrastructure architecture standards and infrastructure urbanisation principles.
Security, Compliance and Resilience
- Implement cybersecurity policies across infrastructure environments, including hardening, segmentation, access control and encryption.
- Ensure regulatory compliance of systems, including GMP / GxP, quality audits and internal requirements.
- Participate in internal and external audits, risk assessments and remediation plans.
- Contribute to security incident management and to the improvement of the organisation’s cybersecurity posture.
Operations and Level 2 / Level 3 Support
- Ensure the operational maintenance of infrastructure environments.
- Handle complex incidents, problems and major infrastructure changes.
- Monitor platforms and services, including monitoring, capacity planning and performance management.
- Work closely with application, security, quality and business teams.
- Provide expert‑level support to support and operations teams.
Projects and Transformation
- Participate in cloud migration, infrastructure modernisation and rationalisation projects.
- Contribute to digital and industrial transformation projects.
- Manage or coordinate service providers and suppliers, including cloud providers, managed service providers and software vendors.
- Propose improvements in terms of cost, performance, automation and resilience.
- Maintain technology watch on infrastructure, cloud and cybersecurity topics.
Documentation and Governance
- Write and maintain technical documentation, procedures and architecture files.
- Contribute to infrastructure governance, including standards, best practices and reference frameworks.
- Participate in knowledge sharing and in the upskilling of teams.
Requirements
Technical Skills
- Infrastructure: on-premises, cloud and hybrid environments.
- Cloud: Azure, AWS or equivalent platforms, including IaaS and PaaS.
- Systems: Windows Server and Linux.
- Virtualisation and containers: VMware, Hyper‑V, Docker and Kubernetes.
- Automation and Infrastructure as Code: Terraform, Ansible and scripting, including PowerShell and Bash.
- Infrastructure security: hardening, IAM, network segmentation, backup, disaster recovery and business continuity.
- Monitoring and operations: monitoring, capacity management and incident management.
- Knowledge of regulated environments, including GMP / GxP, would be an advantage.
