IPVF – Photovoltaic Institute of Île-de-France

The Photovoltaic Institute of Île-de-France, institute for energy transition, is a scientific and technical center dedicated to the research and development of solar technologies . On its site located in Paris-Saclay, it brings together its own staff, employees of its partners and those of external companies. The IPVF aims to ambition to become one of the main global centers for research, innovation and training in the field of energy transition .

The IPVF aims to primary objective of improving the performance and competitiveness of photovoltaic cells and developing disruptive technologies relying on four levers:

  • An ambitious research program;
  • The reception, on its Paris-Saclay site, of more than 200 researchers and their laboratories;
  • A cutting-edge technological platform (8 m²) open to players in the photovoltaic sector, and bringing together more than 000 cutting-edge equipment located in clean rooms.
  • A training program mainly based on a master's degree, supervision of doctoral students, and continuing education.

JOB CONTEXT

As part of the development of its R&D activities on next-generation photovoltaic cells, IPVF is looking for a materials and vacuum process engineering apprentice to strengthen its thin film manufacturing unit (reactive sputtering, evaporators, ALD, PECVD, MBE, RIE…).

What we offer:

As part of a growing international technology organization that places innovation, excellence, and agility at the heart of its values, we offer a work environment that values team spirit and promotes training. The IPVF will allow you to express your potential and demonstrate your skills in Operation and maintenance of vacuum equipment.

MISSIONS

The apprentice's tasks will include:

  1. Activities related to the operation of vacuum equipment:
    • Put into service two PEVCD and RIE equipment in consultation with the Head of Department, cross-functional services (QHSE, building, special gases) and suppliers.
    • Establish the associated documentation (operating instructions, risk analysis).
    • Train users on this equipment.
    • Establish the quality control and preventive maintenance schedule for this equipment.
    • Monitor the start-up, assist the researchers and manage any troubleshooting.
  2. R&D activities on photovoltaic materials:
    • To assist the various programs with a quality input of materials on all vacuum processes (reactive spraying, evaporators, ALD, PECVD, MBE, RIE…) in consultation with the Head of Department.
    • To produce samples, as well as optimized and reproducible recipes.
  3. Other activities:
    • Manage product and equipment stocks in consultation with the Head of Department
    • Organize, tidy and clean the premises (laboratories and storage rooms)
