IoT Solution Architect

Role Summary

As an IoT Solution Architect at Vodafone, you will consult enterprise customers on connectivity solutions across a range of applications and industries. You will bring technical expertise and business understanding to propose and design solutions based on Vodafone’s managed connectivity and IoT portfolio, leading the solution from pre‑sales through implementation and deployment. This customer‑facing role will require frequent travel to customer sites.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with regional Business Development and Key Account Management on pre‑sale activities and qualification of sales leads.
• Act as a technical consultant to customers; advise, propose, and design solutions aligned with customer requirements.
• Assess technical solution complexity and deliverability on Vodafone’s IoT platforms and network capability at global and regional levels.
• Lead presentations of IoT solution designs and workshops based on the managed connectivity and IoT catalog, highlighting Vodafone’s differentiators.
• Support the sales process from qualification through RFP/bid, contract sign‑up, implementation, deployment, and acceptance testing.
• Produce and maintain technical documentation that meets customer and business requirements, achieving solution approval.
• Create clear RFI/RFP answers for winning bid responses.
• Support customers during deployments, testing, in‑life feature launches, and manage technical change requests.
• Collaborate with internal delivery teams and drive solution design and testing to completion.
• Travel 25% within France and Europe.

Essential Qualifications

• BSc, MSc, or equivalent in IT/EE or related field.
• Knowledge of cellular 3GPP, LPWAN, satellite radio technology and radio coverage for IoT.
• Detailed knowledge of data communication, network, software application and IT technologies.
• Proven track record in technical or pre‑sales capacity.
• Customer relationship skills and ability to engage at Director level.
• Strong communication and decision‑making, balancing conflicting interests.
• Preferred international experience with strong cultural awareness.
• Hands‑on knowledge of the broader IoT market.
• Experience managing complex technology change.
• Team player with strong influence and relationship management skills.
• Adaptable to fast‑paced environment.
• Fluent in French and English.

Desired Qualifications

• CCNA, CCNP or equivalent certification.
• Experience with multinational mobile network operators.
• Knowledge of billing systems for telecoms.
• Knowledge of key IoT markets (utilities, automotive, finance/payments, manufacturing, oil & gas, consumer electronics).
• IT security knowledge.
• Knowledge of electronic device design, testing, manufacturing, and supply chain.
• Multilingual abilities.
• A self‑starter with determination, tact and diplomacy.
