Investment Analyst Internship (6 months) - Munich based

Overview
For the Munich office we are looking to hire an investment analyst intern or working student for 6 months, with an optional opportunity to transition to a full‑time position thereafter. This is a unique opportunity to join a team of highly skilled professionals, working closely with a Munich‑based investment director, vice‑president and investor relations director while having meaningful exposure to the wider Vauban team in Paris.
Responsibilities
During the internship the intern or working student will work on deal origination, M&A execution and asset management work streams, as well as on capital raising and client reporting activities. The intern or working student will also participate in an onboarding week in Paris. Additional travel may be necessary on a case‑by‑case basis.
Origination and Investment
- Participation in origination of new investment opportunities, including analysis of market sectors, clients and strategic partners.
- Identify, research and perform financial analysis of potential investment opportunities.
- Synthesize investment opportunities in well‑reasoned investment memoranda for consideration in internal committees and non‑binding / binding offer phases.
- Contribute to key due diligence workstreams with M&A transaction processes, including review and analysis of commercial, technical, ESG and legal advisory deliverables.
- Model cash flow projections and scenarios, including sensitivities and risk analyses.
- Support in asset management, including monitoring the performance of portfolio companies, preparation and review of board packs, internal memoranda and quarterly reporting.

- Understanding of financial markets, financial reports and data tools.
Desired Profile
- Student at a Business School, Engineering School or university with background in corporate finance.
- Master’s student, final‑year student, gap‑year or end‑of‑studies internship.
- Strong analytical skills, sound investment judgement (previous modelling experience is a plus).
- Prior experience in a consulting firm, financial institution or other meaningful experience is desired.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
- Fluent, or at least professional proficiency, in German and English.
- Autonomy, precision, initiative and team spirit, good integration skills.
