Investment Analyst - Internship

Overview

A leading finance firm focused on ecological transition investments is seeking a highly motivated Analyst Intern to join their Green Impact Growth Fund team in Paris. This dual‑focus role combines traditional private equity investment activities with cutting‑edge applied private equity firm initiatives, offering exposure to the forefront of sustainable finance and technology integration. The fund specialises in supporting exceptional fast‑growing European SMEs driving positive ecological impact, typically investing €5‑30m per transaction as minority or majority shareholders. The team of 9 investment professionals actively monitors portfolio companies' impact performance and provides operational, financial, and ESG support.

Key Responsibilities

Investment Activities (75% of role)

• Assess investment opportunities across multiple dimensions including market analysis, strategy, HR, financial modelling, legal, and IT considerations
• Prepare supporting materials including legal documentation, internal and external memos, and Investment Committee notes
• Prepare for external interviews and participate in management presentations
• Ensure optimal execution of deal flow processes and middle office activities

Applied private equity firm Initiatives (25% of role)

• Contribute to initiatives integrating private equity firm into sourcing, investment analysis, asset management, and reporting
• Support development of prompt libraries and deployment of private equity firm agents
• Explore productivity‑enhancing tools and workflows with autonomy to investigate and propose solutions

Skills & Experience

• Demonstrated interest and/or experience in applied private equity firm, including private equity firm agents, automation, or product management projects
• Top‑tier academic background in Finance, Business, or Engineering
• Currently completing a professional gap year as part of a Master's program or equivalent
• Previous internship experience in Tier 1 investment banking (M&A/project finance), private equity/venture capital, transaction services, or management consulting
• Entrepreneurial mindset with strong analytical skills, adaptability, and quick learning ability
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong interpersonal abilities and team spirit
• Financial modelling skills preferred
• Fluency in English and French required
