Licorne Society was commissioned by a growing company to help them find an Investment Analyst.
About The Company
We are a leading French financial firm with 200 employees in France. We are part of a major European group, which is itself owned by a prominent American corporation. In France, we operate across three sites: Paris, Lyon, and Marseille. This role is based in our Paris office, working alongside the General Manager and the Commercial Director.
Job Purpose
We are looking for an Investment Analyst to join our high-performance European Pricing Team. While our Data team focuses on post-purchase analytics, the Investment Team is dedicated to the pre-purchase phase of debt acquisition. Your core mission will be to accurately estimate the purchase value of debt portfolios to ensure attractive returns.
Key Responsibilities
- Portfolio Valuation: Lead the evaluation process for multiple asset portfolios and determine competitive purchase prices.
- Advanced Analytics: Perform statistical analysis by combining diverse data sources and running sensitivity/macro scenario checks.
- Tool Development: Create and improve analytical tools and evaluation approaches to maintain a competitive edge.
- Investment Memorandums: Prepare and present recommendations to the Investment Committee and external stakeholders.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the local General Manager, Commercial Director, and your "Buddy" to ensure seamless integration and knowledge sharing.
Person Specification
- Education: Master’s degree in a numerical field from a top-tier engineering school (Polytechnique, Centrale, Mines, Ponts ParisTech, Telecome, ENSAE, ENSTA, Arts et Métiers, IMT Atlantique)
- Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in SQL and Python (or Pyspark) for data querying and programming. Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills are required.
- Experience: Previous experience in underwriting, debt purchase processes, or portfolio management is highly valued.
- Languages: Full professional proficiency in both English and French is mandatory.
Compensation & Benefits
- Fixed Salary: €50,000 - €55,000 (non-negotiable).
- Bonus: 8% annual bonus based on performance.
- Growth: Guaranteed annual salary increases of 5% to 6%.
Recruitment Process
- Initial interview with Licorne Society.
- On-site interview in Paris with the current Pricing Analyst and the General Manager.
- Final interview (full English) with the Head of Investments (N+1), based in the UK.
