Job Summary
The Inventory Manager is a cross-functional role within the Business Planning, Sales & Operations Planning, and Inventory organization. The primary objective is to optimize and oversee the entire inventory scope (Raw Materials, Work in Progress, and Finished Goods/Trading) across RAC production sites and distribution centers to support Working Capital targets and the Back to 10% profitability program. Success includes achieving strict Days Inventory Outstanding targets, driving structural inventory reduction initiatives, and coordinating plant logistics, purchasing, and regional S&OP managers.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Define safety stocks and parameters per plant type (Raw materials, WIP, Finished Goods).
- Coordinate raw material needs with Purchasing and guarantee the accuracy of inventory data in the Critical Raw Material file.
- Contribute to Critical Raw Material discussions with Category Managers and establish trend reports between target stock and current stock.
- Monitor local execution of critical raw material guidelines at plants and distribution centers.
- Work directly with plant production schedulers, local purchasing, plant managers, and supply chain managers.
- Monitor Finished Goods to prevent stockouts or stock excesses.
- Monitor Trading stock levels and Distribution Center PO execution.
- Support preparation of S&OP routines (DIO analysis for Raw mat and FG inventory; Trading inventory analysis).
- Act as the Single Point of Contact to Operating Working Capital PMO.
- Coordinate with Hub stakeholders across Finance, Operations, and Supply Chain to support working capital goals.
Qualifications & Experience
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Operations Research, Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience: 10 years in supply chain, global inventory planning, or industrial S&OP management within international manufacturing. Experience with heavy industrial or chemical-based inventory across multi-site networks is preferred.
- Certifications: APICS CPIM/CSCP or equivalent. Lean Six Sigma or project management certifications are a plus.
Skills & Personal Characteristics
- Technical: Advanced ERP knowledge (SAP SD/MM or Opera) and planning tools (e.g., Quintiq); experience with analytics and data manipulation using tools such as Google Workspace, Looker Studio, or Prism to track slow movers and inventory financial impacts.
- Stakeholder Management: Ability to align central supply chain strategies with regional stakeholders and manage trade-offs between cost, transport, and inventory.
- Communication: Adaptable across audiences from executives to operational staff; fluent in English and French (written and spoken).
- Personal: Rigorous, process-oriented, agile multitasker, results-driven, and proactive in identifying inventory risks and improving BOM accuracy.
