Position Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Inventory Control Supervisor to oversee and optimize inventory control processes across the organization. The role ensures accurate inventory levels, efficient stock organization, and smooth day-to-day inventory operations. This position suits someone who combines strong analytical skills with hands-on leadership, enjoys improving processes, and can collaborate effectively across multiple departments to support operational excellence.

Responsibilities

• Manage and monitor inventory levels to ensure product availability while minimizing overstock and stockouts.
• Oversee the receiving, storage, movement, and distribution of materials.
• Develop, implement, and maintain inventory control procedures to improve accuracy, efficiency, and cost control.
• Conduct cycle counts and physical inventory audits, reconciling discrepancies as needed.
• Track, analyze, and report on inventory metrics, including turnover, shrinkage, stock levels, and inventory accuracy.
• Maintain accurate inventory records and stock movement data using inventory management systems, including SAP.
• Partner with Purchasing, Supply Chain Planning, Operations, Finance, Sales, and Quality to support demand planning, SKU optimization, customer claim investigations, and business objectives.
• Coordinate with warehouse teams to ensure proper storage, organization, and material handling practices.
• Support compliance with safety standards, inventory procedures, and best practices.
• Train and support team members on inventory processes, procedures, and SAP usage.
• Analyze trends, audit findings, and process gaps to recommend continuous improvement opportunities.
• Manage the returns process, ensuring materials are handled properly and documentation is completed accurately.

Knowledge and skills

• Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain management, logistics, or a related field preferred.
• Certification in inventory management or supply chain management (e.g., CPIM or CSCP) preferred.
• Proven experience in inventory management, supply chain, logistics, or warehouse operations.
• Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel or similar tools for reporting and data analysis.
• Experience using inventory management systems, ERP, or WMS platforms; SAP experience strongly preferred.
• Transferable experience with systems such as Oracle, AS400, or HighJump is an asset.
• Strong understanding of inventory control processes, stock accuracy, cycle counts, and warehouse operations.
• Experience with Lean, 6S, Six Sigma, or project management methodologies preferred.
• Ability to support warehouse layout optimization to improve storage efficiency, accessibility, and material flow.
