Internship - Radiofrequency Engineer
We are looking for a Radiofrequency Engineering Intern to help design, simulate, and experimentally validate cryogenic microwave components for our quantum wiring products. Supervised by RF and quantum engineers, you will simulate a wide library of passive RF and microwave components, perform measurements at room temperature and in cryogenic systems, and reconcile simulations with measurements - including loss analysis through participation-ratio simulations and loss-matrix inversion to link performance to materials and fabrication tolerances. This role offers hands‑on exposure to the full quantum hardware workflow, from electromagnetic design to cryogenic validation.
Key Responsibilities
Design and simulation of microwave components using EM simulation tools.
Experimental characterization using VNA, spectrum analyzers, and cryogenic measurement setups.
Prototyping activities including PCB layout, component assembly, and signal integrity troubleshooting.
Measurement scripting and data analysis in Python - automation, calibration routines, S-parameter processing.
Documentation of tests, procedures, and design iterations to support internal knowledge-sharing.
Who you are
You're a hands‑on builder who likes understanding how things really work. You enjoy combining theory, simulation, and lab experimentation, and you learn best by designing, testing, and iterating. You value open discussion and enjoy working with teammates who challenge and support one another. Above all, you are motivated by the prospect of joining an ambitious team pushing the limits of hardware to unlock a new era of scalable quantum computing.
Key Qualifications
Master’s student or gap-year student in RF engineering, electrical engineer or related field.
Prior experience with EM simulation software such as Ansys HFSS, CST, or ADS.
Strong working knowledge of S-parameter simulation and measurement.
Professional proficiency in English.
Bonus
Familiarity with microwave components in the 0-20 GHz band: filters, attenuators, broadband circulators, impedance adapters.
Experience with PCB Design (e.g., Altium) and hands‑on skills including soldering, test & debugging using VNAs, PSA or multimeters, and experience with KiCad software.
Proficiency in French.
Personal Attributes
You are autonomous, ambitious, and organized.
You are a hands‑on builder , comfortable starting from scratch and willing to own things end‑to‑end - setups, scripts, purchases, processes.
You have an engineer's mindset : meticulous attention to detail and a systematic approach to problem‑solving.
You communicate openly and directly : you welcome pushback on your ideas and are candid about both wins and mistakes.
You are eager to learn and grow. You see competing approaches as a feature, not a threat, and draw strength from collaboration.
You thrive under high expectations , pushing for breakthroughs rather than settling for good enough.
What We Offer
A front‑row seat at a cutting‑edge deeptech startup shaping the future of quantum computing.
The opportunity to develop scale‑enabling products and the quantum test infrastructure that will drive the company's success.
A collaborative, mission‑driven culture with a genuine focus on personal and professional growth.
